Mehr als Wohnen Project (Switzerland)

To understand the Mehr als Wohnen project, it is important to look back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Zurich experiences a demographic explosion and a severe housing crisis. In this context, in 1907, a law was adopted, which stated that the municipality was responsible for providing ‘affordable and adequate housing’. Habicoop : des coopératives d’habitants hors du marché de la spéculation (France)

On compte aujourd’hui en France 30 coopératives sur le modèle promu par Habicoop. Christiane Chateauvieux, co-présidente de la Fédération, nous raconte comment l’habitat coopératif se révèle d’autant plus bénéfique en temps de crise.

Habicoop est la Fédération française des coopératives d’habitants. Implantée à Lyon mais rayonnant au niveau national, son rôle est de promouvoir ce mode d’habitation spécifique, solidaire et hors du marché spéculatif qui relève d’un mouvement plus large : celui de l’habitat participatif . Interviewée en pleine période de confinement lié au Covid-19, Christiane Chateauvieux, co-présidente de la Fédération, nous raconte comment l’habitat coopératif se révèle d’autant plus bénéfique en temps de crise.
