UK Government Extends Four Million Homes Training Program

UK Government Extends Four Million Homes Programme

The UK government announced the extension of the Four Million Homes program, which empowers social housing residents across England with knowledge, training, and resources to understand and uphold their rights.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner confirmed the extension in response to the Grenfell Inquiry’s Phase 2 Report. Over the past two years, the program has trained 3,000 residents and reached hundreds of thousands via social media and its website.

With the extension, Four Million Homes will expand its training, incorporating new requirements like Awaab’s Law*, and continue its webinars, online resources, and accessible guides to help residents hold landlords accountable.

Programme Manager Helen Bartlett said:
“We are delighted by the government’s continued support for this vital initiative, helping social housing residents understand their rights and drive positive change.”

UK residents and housing professionals can access resources and sign up for updates at www.fourmillionhomes.org.

*Awaab’s Law ensures social landlords have to investigate and fix dangerous damp and mould within a set amount of time. It comes into effect in October 2025.
