ICA Housing Plenary – Manchester, England
The ICA Housing Plenary and Board meeting was held as part of an inspiring global festival of events and exhibitions set in Manchester, UK, to mark the close of the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives.
The key element of our Plenary was the launch of our Good Governance Charter, an ICA Housing IYC 2012 initiative. The development of ICA Housing’s Good Governance Charter was one of ICA Housing’s four IYC 2102 initiatives. A group of ICA Housing members, led by ICA Housing Vice President, Nicholas Gazzard, developed a Good Governance Charter which sets out the high level governance principles that enable housing co-operatives to ensure that they are democratically well governed in an open, transparent and accountable way. The presentation is available here.
The ICA Housing Board also took the opportunity to review our Certified Timber Campaign. Also considered was the next ICA Housing 4-years strategic plan 2013-2016 along with a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between ICA Housing and CECODHAS Housing Europe.
