Seminar: Working Together to Develop Housing Co-operatives

The seminar and round table brought together African and international housing co-operators to discuss the current challenges and opportunities faced by the co-op housing movement in sub-Saharan Africa and to share best practices and ideas to pursue co-op housing development. An overview of the current situation in the region was provided by representatives of Rooftops Canada-Abri international and We Effect, two international organizations involved with housing co-operatives in Africa for several decades. Other sub-Saharan countries also provided the participants with a brief overview of their current situation and specific challenges.
